Roof Access Construction 04 14 2011

116 days from container delivery…

“This is the opening to the roof, called the doghouse.  A storm door will go on it. You can the see the new stairway design to allow anyone to walk up to the roof.
Just one of the many interesting things on the home.” Tom

The original design called for a roof hatch, but Tom will probably use the roof more than we had anticipated so easier to use access makes good sense. The solar panels will be adjustable to best meet the sun angle throughout the year. Stephen

Preparing to Stack the Porch 04 05 2011

110 days from container delivery…

Originally, the porch was designed to be enclosed with an aluminum screened system. Tom has been able to get 10 foot “chunks” of container at a really good price, so the team has been integrating them as often as possible. This means more recycling and strength (…also, redesign!!). We will try to do an updated rendering. Ben suggested the porch configuration and here it is happening. You will see the welded in steel supports on the 20 footer.  Following this, the 10fters are lifted into place.
hope you get these.
